Review of Under the Sun (2015) by Vince Y — 29 Sep 2016
Throughout the film I was cringing as I wondered what the consequences would be for the minders, the family featured in the film and the people filmed unawares. Knowing how brutal the North Korean regime is, I suspect some of them would have been executed.
There are always consequences and filmmakers and artists should always be mindful of this. No, this is not an advocacy of censorship but an appeal for more humanity and self reflection.
