Review of Under the Cherry Moon (1986) by Simona — 25 Oct 2007
A very bold movie with great lighting and camera work. It has a Breathless and Casablanca feel to it and has strong moments of magic. However, Prince, despite the genius that he is, is simply not convincing as an actor.
...AT ALL. He has a great image, great looks, but just no on-screen charisma. Extremely talented man with a very well intentioned film is just not 100% in terms of Entertainment cohesion. Another actor may have been good, but then it wouldn't really be a Prince film (agh.
.....them's the breaks).
