Review of Under the Cherry Moon (1986) by Shane D — 12 Aug 2009
Well...I'm a Prince fan. Furthermore, I love Purple Rain in fact at any given time I would say Purple Rain is one of my favourite films of all time. But I always avoided this film for fear of damaging my view of 1980s Prince.
Finally deciding to bite the bullet, I gave it a shot, open to being suprised by possibly liking it. Unfortunately, it was less than 5 minutes in and I knew I was in for 99 of the toughest minutes of an artist just a little to in love with themselves.
At times, Prince shows that he is capable of some comedy, but for the most part...this is offensive with the only great thing being the closing titles where the Revolution make their appearance...
