Review of Under Suspicion (2000) by Sara R — 12 Oct 2008
Ok so I understand this may make me a film idiot, but I simply did not care about this movie. I love the actors. I love the genre. I like puzzles and twists and the unexpected. I comprehend the point of the movie as well.
The problem is that instead of hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to find out if the suspicion surrounding Hackman was true, I just wanted someone to take the blame and end the boring movie. I think the issue for me was that I didnt care about Hackman.
The filmaker did not make me hope for the character's salvation. If there had been any time spent causing me to feel sympathy for the character then it may have been worth the 2 hours. As it was presented to me it was not worth the time.
