Review of Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) by Senor C — 11 Sep 2010
Two Steven Seagal movies in one day: I figured since the first Under Siege was pretty good what the hell. Sadly this one can't compete because Tommy Lee Jones & Gary Busey weren't in it. Eric Bogosian can't compete even though his performance is a bit ham fisted.
It's all by the numbers & I was calling the plot as it unfolded. When Seagal & his niece got on the train & it had his name & plus 1 you know the terrorists are going to read the register & use his niece as bait.
When Segal's niece uses a Navy hold on the porter you know he's going to use that move on a terrorist. When you see the bar elevator being used you know it's going to come into play later.
When the porter notices Segal's nieces Navy cross you know the terrorist are going to use that to find her..I could go on and on. It's not complex writing but the action sequences make up for it even if the train does get a bit claustrophobic after awhile.
They were smart enough @ least to recognize that & moved it off the train for a bit for Seagal to hang off a cliff (even if the CGI is pretty bad) & finishing up on a helicopter.
