Review of Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010) by Mathieu F — 21 Oct 2010
Clearly, I have to admit that I don't have the cultural background to understand this film and yet it makes for a pleasant, totally disconcerting and sometimes disturbing experience of cinema. This film draws from the font of fantastic realism and managed to enchant me and that, in itself, is an exploit worth noting.
Also, there is a scene, with a princess talking to a fish in a pond by a cascade that reminded me of "Little, Big" and that, also, is reason enough to see it!
