Review of Un Chien Andalou (1929) by Geoff P — 02 Apr 2008
Bizarre chunk of surrealistic cinema. There are plenty of recognisable Dali motifs in there. It also has many contemporary Spanish concerns in there, notably the treatment of women and the clergy. But it is the vignettes and images that stay with you, notably the dead horse on the piano, and, of course, the Pixies' favourite, the eye-ball meets razorblade scene.
