Review of Un Chien Andalou (1929) by Stephen G — 25 Sep 2008
I really don't know what to make of this film. It felt like a series of dreams but with nightmarish images such as the eye being slit open and the ants in the palms. I don't think I've ever been at a screening that ellicited such screams of genuine horror when the razor blade slit the eye open.
However, its pretty amazing that this movie is over 70 years old and can still create that kind of response.
