Review of Umberto D. (1952) by Anthony S — 16 Aug 2004
Not fantastic, but a good story that's told effortlessly. It's touching at times (though at times it also seemed a little bland), and the relationship of man and dog has always been a beautiful one. The scene where (highlight to read) Umberto decides he must beg for money is simply one of the best and most painful scenes I've ever seen in film. Overall, it was a very good movie experience..
