Review of Umberto D. (1952) by Shane C — 30 Jun 2007
The most important film I have ever seen in reference to my approach and style of storytelling. This film changed how I see filmmaking. The Italian Neo-Realist era is responsible for some of the finest films ever produced.
Only De Sica could have done this. No one has attempted it since... that should tell you something. Actually, it should tell you everything.
