Review of UFO (2018) by Mauro L — 26 Sep 2018
When Columbus (re)discovered America, Europeans claimed that they were no longer alone on Earth. Were they alone together with the Americans? The same can be said for the films about UFOs and aliens: would we be alone in the cosmos with them? It's the problem of which the "Prometheus" saga suffers. This movie isn't sci-fi, but a psychopathogenetic hypothesis of the behavior of a maths student traceable to the typology "Madness and Genius", which indeed is the title of the director's debut in 2003. Anyway, after 15 years, is it for Eslinger an obsession or an autobiographical deepening? The anecdotes about the skeletons in Edison's closet are interesting.
