Review of U2 3D (2008) by Jimi F — 20 Feb 2008
A good, solid concert film which nevertheless leans too heavily on the band's overly-earnest material. Personally, only a few of my favourite U2 songs were performed, and the sound throughout, despite the impeccable, energetic playing, is executed too often in a huge, enormodome style which gets a bit samey.
Still, The Edge's solos still sound astounding, and the likes of "New Year's Day" and "Where the Streets Have No Name" are breathtaking. Still, come on lads, don't be ashamed of those 1990's albums of yours just because they didn't sell well, okay? They were great!
