Review of U2 3D (2008) by Richard W — 18 Mar 2008
I haven't seen a 3D movie in years. I must admit it was quite good. There were times when Bono stretched out his hand that I wanted to take it. I'm glad there were very few people in the theatre to see me at the time.
The cinematography was excellent. It's quite a difficult undertaking to shoot a live concert movie, yet the shots were excellent. The audio was spot on. There are times in "Rattle and Hum" where you can tell they substituted audion from another gig for the video images you are seeing.
Not so in "U2 3D". Bono is as preachy as ever. The Edge is... well - he's the Edge. Adam is aging gracefully. Larry unfortunately seemd a little bored with the whole thing, but this was the only downside of the film.
