Review of U Turn (1997) by John A — 29 Oct 2007
After establishing himself as a dead serious film-makerthat captures people and events of history with politically charged semi-accuracy, Oliver Stone decided to just head out to the desert and have a little fun.
Like Scorsese making Cape Fear, Stone slums it at the drive-in, with this purposeful B-movie populated with A-list actors. A hard-boiled tribute to film noir, with a grindhouse esthetic. This film ties with Out Of Sight as J-Lo's best work, but wins as her hottest.
