Review of Two Mules for Sister Sara (1970) by Andrew W — 21 Dec 2010
A cogent well paced western with typical Eastwood cowboy juxtaposed against MacLaine's nun. The mix works well and the story runs smoothly to the end. If there is a complaint it is the early title sequence where Siegel pans from a creature to Eastwood travelling across Mexico.
Nice idea once or twice, but he does it at least seven times. A minor niggle and until the final violence which has one or two gratuitous elements, the film works well.
