Review of Two Lovers (2008) by Mark Z — 05 Jul 2009
A low-key film that is very perceptive of its characters. The three leads all turn in effective performances with Phoenix's awkward man-child truly making a mark, as difficult as it is to watch him stumble sometimes.
I particularly enjoyed the lack of cliche when it comes to the Jewish families of the characters, free of typical neuroses and rendered like real people.
