Review of Two Lovers (2008) by Michael H — 29 Dec 2010
Graceful and nuanced performances. Perfect Script. The look of the film is gorgeously dark but not gloomy. It's truthful in it's people and it's surroundings. Joaquin is cute as a button trying to find his manhood apart from his 'helicoptering'/ micro-involved Jewish family.
And Gwyneth never condescends her lost, not to bright, girl-next-door who needs someone to take care for her. Best club scene ever. Gifted James Gray, writer / director, made a perfect romantic drama.
