So inextricably tied up with the nostalgia that comes from having half-seen it on tv as a kid that the way I evaluate this is not the way I would evaluate any other movie... since then i've seen it countless times and know the script verbatim.
.. cleverly calculated, yet natural... romantic, yet bitterly realistic... of its time, yet ageless... a great example of cast, director, writer, composer, photographer, wardrobe designer working as one to create a masterpiece.
