Review of Two for the Money (2005) by Mitchell Y — 16 Jul 2007
Al Pacino's suave acting carries most of the film. It's pretty predictable and McConaughey doesn't work as an anti-hero or a hero. I'm not sure - I guess this was a sports movie, but it also tries to be a comedy and a thriller and unsuccessfully combines elements of all of these genres.
Only Pacino's gruff whisper and scowl can electrify the screen.
