These Poe adaptations by Romero and Argento depart a bit much more than they ought from the original tales, and lose the power of those stories in favor of more conventional horror elements. Impalement by metronome, anyone? I think it was a metronome.
There are moments to enjoy. I think Argento's is by far the superior film.
