Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Andy L — 09 Feb 2015
This movie about a solar panel factory worker trying to save her job by convincing her coworkers to vote to keep her on and forego a bonus is a brilliant exploration of the lives working class people in a format which provides the necessary suspense of storytelling.
Each worker visited has a different reason for voting for or against Sandra (or actually for her or for their bonus) and the complexity of different interests paint a portrait of a workplace caught up in the turmoil of globalization but still rooted in the lives of workers in Europe.
The ending is notable for being both complex, satisfying, and thought-provoking.
