Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Augustina S — 28 Aug 2015
Not everyone is going to be a fan of its pacing, but the way it's shot brings you right into the main character's world in an incredibly honest, raw and heartfelt way. Cotillard, as per usual, is brilliant and commands sympathy from the audience without lapsing into melodramatics or over-sentimentality.
It's easy to veer into cheesy territory with a premise like this, but the film's message - which is both a relevant and important one - is very well executed and manages to avoid clichés. Overall I highly recommend this.
