Review of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) by Kyle B — 23 Jan 2011

Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me is every bit brillant as strange. The film shows us Laura Palmer's last days before she is brutally murdered but the film also shows us the case of Teresa Banks who was killed 1 year before Laura by the same killer.

David Lynch does a brillant job bringing Twin Peaks to the screen but if your looking for the off-beat humour of the Series you will be dissapointed as this film is very dark/disturbing. The Majority of Characters from Twin Peaks return for the film even for a couple of minutes. This was one of the criticism of Fire Walk With Me that many Characters were only in it for a couple of minutes or not even in it at all like Sheriff Truman, Andy, Lucy, Audrey Horne and many more, Another problem was that the main character of the Series Dale Cooper doesn't play a big part in the movie and isn't in it for that long but it doesn't take away from the brillance of this film.

The Acting is very good from the main cast especially Sheryl Lee as Laura and Ray Wise as Leland. Frank Silva also does a good as the demon Bob because he managed to give people more nightmares after watching this. Angelo Badalamenti does another fantastic job on the Soundtrack that will be with you for days after watching.

The Black Lodge also returns in the film which is really cool because it gives you a little bit more information about Bob and Mike.

There was meant to be two more films after this but this was a critical and financial flop so the other films where never done which is rubbish because I want more Twin Peaks and I also think it didn't deserve to be panned because it's such a entertaining film.

But if you've just finished the series or have never seen the series and you're in the mood for a dark surreal film put this on and you won't regret it.
