Review of Twilight (2001) by Mia H — 21 May 2013
I admit, I was excited when I first heard Twilight was being made into a movie. I had read the book when it first came out and fell in love with it, only to reread it a few years later and only see its faults: awkward dialogue, a detestably weak protagonist, and a plot that floundered between the personal fantasies of the author and sudden peaks of conflict that were resolved only minutes later.
Unfortunately, this film seems to be determined to show true to the original text. That is not to say the film is completely without merit. I keep this movie reserved for when I am too tired to think, placing it firmly in the "junk, but not so junk that it is completely unwatchable" pile.
