Review of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) by Mia H — 18 Nov 2007
It was better than 3 and 4, which I think counts for something since sequels tend to just get worse and worse. Very dark yet funny (sometimes unintentionally so). The kid was a kick-ass little actress and seemed so much better than in part 4, which I think was due to better directing and editing.
Her character endures a lot too, especially from Donald Pleasence's character, who treated her with the roughness you might use with an adult, which was all at once disturbing, refreshing and hilarious.
Donald Pleasence was a maniac in this one. Laughed my ass off. I love that guy. The adult female lead was a atypical, which was also nice. A worthy addition to the franchise.
