Review of Twilight (2001) by Syd B — 23 Mar 2013
I know how many haters there are out there and some of their ways peeve me although I wish not to disrespect them. I adore this series, it completely captured me after I had had such little interest in giving it a try. The reason was simply that I had not been a vampire person before, but when I begun seeing the commercials for this film I had to know what the fuss was about. It had me hooked before I had it to the checkout counter.
I loved it's uniqueness, and imagination and I happen to be a total sucker for mushy romance.
The film while I enjoy it in it's own way, I wish could have been more accurate to the book. All but one of my favorite scenes/moments were either barely there or not at all(which accounts for this film's lost stars in my rating). But alas, aside from Kristen Stewart seeming to have a problem showing a lot of emotion, it was brilliantly acted and the first performance where Robert Pattinson captured me(and pretty much his first performance of mine period, prior to Twilight I hardly noticed him as Cedric Diggory sadly). He has great talent, even my mom agrees that he produces an excellent American accent and I adore his singing of 'Let Me Sign' and 'Never Think'. I do wish he would do more soundtrack singing.
Overall I very much enjoy this film.
Also check for my review of New Moon, coming up in a moment.
