Impressive Iraqi/Iranian joint venture covering the time period around the beginning of America's invasion of the Middle East. The cast is made up almost entirely of children (all of which are actual refugees, and half of which are physically deformed in some way), and most of them perform believably well for the camera.
There are some beautiful shots throughout the film, and one specifically that is a perfect embodiment (in my opinion) of the perverting effects of war on the family unit. It becomes increasingly dark as it proceeds through the narrative, so be cautious.
..it won't be for everyone. Probably won't be for most, to be honest. Still, I highly recommend it.
