Review of Turbo Kid (2015) by Kuehnau — 16 Oct 2017
Turbo Kid is one weird fricking movie. The quality of it and the enjoyment you'll garner from it largely depends on your level of sobriety during the film. My friend and I watched this film completely on accident, while tripping on acid and it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. But once I went to watch it again sober to fully adsorb the story, it wasn't nearly as good. There is a certian level of nostalgia with the film, given the colors, topics, over the topic violence and feeling of a video game film, unfortunatly, the nostalgia can't carry it all the way.
If you want a great night tripping with friends, go ahead and watch this film. If you are looking for a excellent film while sober, look elsewhere. 5 out of 10 while sober, 7 out of 10 while tripping balls.
