Review of Tully (2018) by Jennifer O — 21 Jul 2018
This film is funny but very much in its relatability. If you are unable to relate it will pass you by.
The film is dark and painful but so very true.
The broken exhaustion that comes with a newborn is magnified when you have other children (especially a child with additional needs) and a absentee partner.
I love that this film is ultimately about a woman getting the care and support she needs, then the tragic element is not from anyone she actually knows or loves her.
It's so real and I perhaps over identify but I would give it more stars if I could.
So clever, well acted and visceral.
