Review of Tully (2018) by Tor M — 23 Oct 2018
Jason Reitman is back after a few years of directorial jobs and he has gotten hands on an amazing actress in Charlize Theron. She is a mother of three, and life is caotic and hard. She finds it hard to get around and get stuff done so she rents a night nanny - "Tully" that takes care of the kid during nights, so she can sleep and get some energy back during nights.
It's an all right comedy drama. Never superfunny, not too dramatic - quite flat in that matter. The acting is very good and the characters are as a-typical as they should. Some turns are very nice, other seem a bit far out and does not work that well. There is a lot of lady talk here, a dialogue with a 40 year old and one in her early 20's. It's OK, but it does not really trigger me.
6 out of 10 breastmilk machines.
