Review of Tuesdays with Morrie (1999) by Susan S — 29 Jan 2011
2-time Academy Award winner and legendary actor of film, Jack Lemmon takes on one of his final roles with the greatest of poignancy.
Based on the wonderful book by Mitch Album, this 1999 made-for-television film earned Lemmon the Emmy for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. He deserved it. He plays Brandeis University professor Morrie Schwartz, who receives a diagnosis of ALS. The movie follows former student and Detroit Sports writer Album, as he begins spending every Tuesday of last few months of Schwartz's life tape recording the life lessons of his influential teacher.
