As a child I read the book and although the movie differs I still loved it. I love alexis bledel in anything she does. jonathan jackson was adorable but the acting was pretty pathetic. the supporting adult cast features many great talents (my fav being ben kingsley as the ominious 'man in the yellow suit').
..true the ending may not be happy...but it's perfect.
