Gritty, sophisticated and direct portrayal of the "real" South Africa. The vast richness of material that is available from which to craft movies has yet to be tapped sufficiently...Tsotsi shows what is possible from a cinematic perspective using local, undiscovered actors to make it gel with the stark backdrops of Johannesburgs unseen ghettos.
