Review of Trumbo (2007) by Stephen B — 01 Jan 2016
Engrossing bio-pic with lots for movie buffs to chew over. Bryan Cranston is spellbinding as the abrasive screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, blacklisted for his communist sympathies and Helen Mirren bites as the venomous Queen of Mean, Hedda Hopper.
The film meanders a little in the final third, but it is still an apt indictment of American fascism in the McCarthy era.
