Review of True Stories (1986) by Ramos C — 04 Apr 2012
A work of pop art for the ages. This film is not only thoughtful and resourceful, but hotly catchy. It examines the diversity of the state of Texas while telling other stories of the local inhabitants.
Made during the crossroads of the modern world, it also shows the evolution of human from the "old days" to the "tech era," and even hints at the beginning of the now giant Apple. The film has an interesting, constricted and isolated feel to it, which can be bothersome at times.
David Byrne is a genius, be it musically, creatively, or simply as an actor.
