Review of True Romance (1993) by Alex V — 05 Jul 2011
This is another one of those over rated movies that I've read online for years is just brilliant and amazing. Parts of it are amazing but only come close to being brilliant. The cast was just superb but I feel like certain people were underused and others were overused in an extremely annoying way. I felt extremely pissed off when I found out about the Christopher Walken/Dennis Hopper Scene and how short it actually is.
I don't know if anyone else feels like this but just wanted to ask ummm what casting director thought Michael Rapaport was any kind of a decent actor? Everytime I see his annoying pasty face and hear his ridiculous voice I want to punch something. He took me out of this movie more than a once or twice. All in all this could have been so much better but don't believe the hype that its this amazing perfect classic movie from the 90s. This falls in line with Bad Lieutenant (1992) as far as movies I'd read about through out the years that people say you have to see and overblow how good they are. This ones middle of the road for me.
