Review of True Romance (1993) by Will W — 14 Sep 2012

The most underrated film of all time - critically praised, yet so violent and demented that it wasn't accepted by mainstream audiences. Tarantino's script and the late, great Tony Scott's frantic direction give this film quite the edge - and let's not forget that ensemble cast.

Highlights include the late Dennis Hopper making filthy remarks about Italians, Gary Oldman as a Rasta pimp and a very bloody shootout in a bathroom. I can't find a single thing wrong with this film, but still wonder what it would be like if its scriptwriters (Tarantino and the uncredited, underrated Roger Avary) ended up creating the final product.
