Review of True Romance (1993) by Dr. F P — 22 Apr 2013
This was so great, better than I expected. Oh and I finally warmed to Christian Slater! You can totally hear Tarantino in the script but i'm sorta glad he didn't direct it. and THAT was Gary Oldman? Wow! This is probably the best romantic type movie I have ever seen, I love the whole Elvis thing here, the little nods here and there to other movies and stuff - pretty much a movie geek's romantic rendezvous with their TV.
I don't know! I thought some parts were kind of played out a bit too much, I suppose even though I love Christopher Walken, his scene was a bit too...ugh. I dont know...i didn't really find it THAT funny.
I know that's Tarantino's signature dialogue but even there's things a fan can get a little tired of. I am also hopelessly in love with the costumes and stuff.. GAH!
