Review of True Romance (1993) by Waleed A — 09 May 2018
I don't know why but in every movie that I've seen Patricia Arquette in, I've always been drawn to her and her character. She's a fantastic actor and she's always looking fly. The chemistry between Arquette and Slater is really nice. IT makes your eyes gravitate towards the screen.
That pimp scene with Gary Oldman was pretty intense. You get to see the chameleon in action none of his first roles. Really violent scene in that whore house but it was so good with all the tension buildup. We can see Tarantino's writing is well incorporated in the scene. I love that Dennis Hopper is in this movie.
I've never seen Walken act so menacing before. Wow, that scene in the trailer home with Walken was brilliant. There's a good amount of subtitles that were interesting to watch. The acting is on point, even with the other actors that aren't on screen.
That scene with Gandolfini and Arquette was crazy! That part when everyone busts into the room guns out was awesome. It was like a Mexican standoff. Great movie! Very original. It hasn't really been done like this.
