Though it's essentially just a dumb and stupid action film, it's competently made. The stunts are great, the action scenes are great, the acting's great, the effects are great, it's a great film.
It lacks in areas when it becomes a little bit predictable like a standard action film, but in the areas that Commando succeeded, True Lies succeeds.
