Review of True Grit (2010) by Robert J — 07 Mar 2014
I'm not sure what movie everyone saw. Yes, there was some good acting in this movie. And, clearly Mr. Bridges shows his acting power in the first scene in the courtroom. The young lady actor also had her stellar moments.
And, even Matt Damon was good at times. However the cohesiveness of the story was very weak. There was no real exhilaration in watching this. It was a cardboard western. At least the Duke brought a swagger and Glen Campbell brought some levity.
The original True Grit was a live breathing story. I wonder how many folks will watch this ever again. I can't find anyone that would recommend it. I collect movies, but this one is being donated to the library.
