Review of True Grit (2010) by Rumblebeelove — 07 Jan 2011
The acting is great here, as is the tone and setting of this film. While it doesn't have the same feel as the original, and can stand on its own and it is very hard to compare the two because they are so different in characterizaton.
My only qualm is with Josh Brolin as Tom Chaney. He seems so dazed the entire time, and I am not sure if it is on purpose or not... Tip of the hat to Barry Pepper as Lucky Ned, who is a great character and I wished we could have had a bit longer with this gentlemanly bad man.
