Review of True Grit (2010) by Dalem — 01 Jan 2011
Though there is something timeless about the characters, they talk and act in a dated historical way that no longer exists nowadays. This film has a great story, great acting, humor, and both a sense of time and timelessness.
If you expect a typical Western you won't find it, yet you won't find an atypical revisionist Western either. The focus is on the characters and how they relate, and the film succeeds wonderfully.
