Review of Troy (2004) by Chris G — 11 Aug 2013
Pretty standard epic that seems embarrassed about its origins in myth, focussing more on realistic (ish) rather than fantastic action. It leaves the Trojan horse sequence til the last minute and rushes through it, then explains away Achilles' death with multiple arrows rather than just one in the heel.
Brad Pitt's Achilles is an interesting enough character and there are enough Brian Coxes and Sean Beans and cool stabby bits to get through one watch at least. Although Sean Bean doesn't die which is disappointing.
