Out of many, many political documentaries I've seen come out of the last few years, this horrific account of Katrina-stricken New Orleans is clearly one of the most effective, and definitely one of the angriest.

The footage Kim Roberts provides in the first half of the movie is powerful and affecting in its raw authenticity. It's a real life Horror film, and she manages to capture human beings at their most desperate, heroic, and frustrated. We're not dealing with secondhand commentary here...these are people literally in the eye of the storm.

Which is why the political angle is so forceful. They have no agenda, people with nothing to prove. Remarkable human beings who have been wrongfully abused and neglected by a system that preferentially treats people based on factors against their favor. And yet they have faith.

Who can't feel that?
