Review of Trouble the Water (2008) by Frederick M — 24 Dec 2009
This documentary is very powerful and takes a visible, disasterous tragedy into the realm of the intimately personal. The movie is based around a family stuck in their home within the 9th ward of New Orleans as the flood waters rise.
They have a handheld camera and capture much of what they see and experience. Unfortunately, the movie runs out of steam in the 2nd half after a gripping and emotional first half. However, this still stands as a documentary I would recommend.
