Review of Tron (1982) by Macklin L — 17 Jun 2011

I used to play a game back on my old Macintosh that was bikes that left behind a solid color that the rider attempted to crash the other bikes with. It was simple 2D and played with the arrow keys, but I put a ton of time into it.

I only learned years later that the game was based on one of the games featured in the movie Tron. In a way, Tron is a typical 80s Disney movie... cheesy dialog and absurd plot. But if one can suspend their disbelief Tron is a fun fantasy adventure into the heart of the computing system, full of dated--yet still gorgeous--graphics.

It has elements of Star Trek and Star Wars, which were both predecessors,.
