Review of Tron (1982) by Greg P — 25 Apr 2011
Tron is a classic sci-fi action movie that was ahead of it's time in so many ways. The visuals here are great and it really had a cool computer vibe. Jeff Bridges is great here as Flynn, the cocky programmer who sets out to prove that he has been shafted by his company when another programmer took credit for his work.
Bruce Boxleitner's more serious Alan is a nice counterpart to Flynn and Cindy Morgan adds some nice eye candy. David Warner plays a great villain here too. Story-wise, I like how the digital world is portrayed here with programs being represented by people that compete in the games.
It is also cool how the different types of programs have personalities that tend to match that of their use. Definitely check this one out.
