Review of Tron (1982) by Mark L — 04 Oct 2011
Stylistically, this movie is epic during its time, and remains epic because if you watch this today, you can definitely see its influence in the industry since its creation. Watching it on Blu-Ray is a plus, since I really can't imagine appreciating the SFX if it was in its old school presentation.
The thing that I did not expect was that Jeff Bridges really isn't the main dude and hero. I was always thought he was Tron, but he really isn't, he's the other guy hah. As for the plot of the film, it really is just ok. This film is really admired for its technology if anything. The performances in the film are still solid, but you definitely can tell that the creators were gambling on the chances that the audiences would be able to follow the idea. The writing could have been a lot better.
