Review of Troll 2 (1990) by Teie J — 13 Nov 2010
Yesterday I decided to give the Troll DVD a try.
It was a single dvd with both Troll movies, we decided, if the first movie is fun, we'll watch both movies on 1 evening.
And thats what we did.
Of course, when watching a movie like this you need to have some beer ready (unless you don't drink of course).
We had beer and the time for 2 movies, so already it was starting to look like an awesome evening of bad acting and old school gore effects.
Troll 2:
Troll 2 was not as fun as the first one, it was not as fast paced and had some boring moments.
BUT, there were also a lot of Laugh-out-Loud moments.
Let me explain,.
First laugh out loud moment was when we noticed some of the art directors name was "Max Slowing" (That was after a few beers).
After that, when you get to see the troll there is one of the faces that you can't look at without laughing.
The other laugh out loud moments consist of really bad over acting, and people plotting something evil, giving an evil look into the camera.
Here is a hilarious example of the over acting in this movie. (notice the fly, this movie is probably all done in 1 take or they thought the fly added something to the movie).
Not much to say about the second troll movie, its about a boy and his grandpa's ghost trying to protect them from the Goblins in Nilbog.
Goblins try to eat people by changing them into some kind of plant material.
Both movies end in a ridiculous way, and both movies have a "bad ending".
They are unrelated movies, and you don't need to watch the first.
So my rating:
Troll 2: 6/10.
